Date May 24, 2016 (Tuesday)
Time 7:00 p.m.
Location Armadillo Park
We tried to do this last year, but kept getting rained out, so we’re trying again to hold a block walk to identify and get information to prioritize potential projects to improve our neighborhood. The City’s Neighborhood Partnering Program (NPP) provides for a partnership between neighborhoods and the City of Austin to provide projects on city-owned land in the neighborhood.
Please see the NPP website to get a little background information and see examples of the types of projects that have been completed under this program. The link to the website is here http://www.austintexas.gov/neighborhoodpartnering Some of the ideas that have been suggested are a mural on the retaining wall of Armadillo Park, rain gardens in various areas, and traffic circles. Who knows, you might just have a great idea that nobody has thought of yet.
So, the plan is to take a short walk around the area with a representative from the NPP program. We may then carpool to other locations in the neighborhood if someone has an idea for something that is not within walking distance of Armadillo Park.
(If you need transportation to the park for the block walk, we have a couple of people who are willing to give rides. Please email armadilloparkna@gmail if you need a ride.)
